Architecture & Style

Designed with Your Well-Being in Mind

You'll have peace of mind knowing that quality is at the heart of everything we do - from the carefully selected home builders and curated collection of floor plans to the stringent architectural standards and building materials.

The homes at SayeBrook embrace our roots and reflect the architectural style of the south. From the slightly more formal Lowcountry colonial to the Carolina coastal vernacular, all our home designs are thoughtful and feature attention to detail inside and outside.

You'll find an interesting mixture of tradition and innovation, plus unexpected accents such as decorative brackets and exposed rafter tails. When possible, garages will be accessed by an alley allowing for welcoming front porches that invite guests to sit and stay awhile.

In addition to offering functional, livable floor plans, our homes will include quality, high-end finishes often found in custom homes such as exposed beams, board  & batten, built-in wall galleries, and more.

Designed with Your Well-Being in Mind

The vision behind SayeBrook was to create a unique sense of place and re-establish the traditional concepts of community, belonging, civic involvement, and appreciation of the natural environment.

Lowcountry Colonial

The Lowcountry Colonial home marries the grandeur and sophistication of the quintessential Southern summer home and the more casual expression of comfort, providing an elegant foundation for the community. These homes have a refined, graceful quality that is most evident in the simple, yet thoughtful detailing of the columns and porches.

Lowcountry Victorian

To mimic the high style, folk Victorian examples use a wide array of trim, spindle work, and brackets to bring interest and honest expression to the structure. The style was accessible to many because of the ability to mass produce milled woodwork, and it spread throughout the country with the advent of the railroad.

Coastal Vernacular

The Carolina Coastal Vernacular style is based on the historic, informal, summer retreats of Pawleys Island and Murrells Inlet. Materials are common, and proportions are horizontal with deliberate attention to the climate. Outdoor living areas extend from the home, blurring the line between interior and exterior spaces.

Coastal Arts & Crafts

The Coastal Arts & Crafts style is prevalent in the residential neighborhoods of nearby Conway, South Carolina, and was generally built in the first quarter of the 20th century. The emphasis for Arts & Crafts homes in this region was on simple materials, bold gestures, and very little decoration.
